Peace Man!

My reaction to President Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize is similar to many. Huh? I was surprised. I think he deserved it but I also believe that the best of Obama is yet to come and perhaps waiting a couple years might have been more prudent. But Obama has pulled this nation from the brink - both financial and political - and the world realizes it needs a healthy USA for them to thrive. Obama has shown the world that even in it's darkest hour, "hope" is possible and the move from war to peace, from antagonizing to dialog, from scorn to respect - can all happen from a single election. This is not only a testament to Obama and the USA, but of democracy itself.

As usual Rachel Maddow does an amazing job of explaining all this. She also dives into the baffling issue of the hatred shown toward the Obama by many in the GOP. While the Nobel may have been early - it was not the world shaking injustice the ever idiotic political Right says.
