Robert Novak RIP

While I rarely agreed with Robert Novak and was frequently brought to screaming at him on the TV, I respected his style and his Independence. Novak looked at the facts and THEN formed his opinion. I disagreed with his analysis but it was always his own and always based on facts. Too many Conservatives these days ignore facts when forming opinions. In fact, for the past generation, right wingers have exclusively crafted the facts to fit their predetermined opinion. Novak did not.

Long time readers know I was a devoted fan of the CNN show Capital Gang and mourned the day it went off the air. That was Novak's show and his idea. In many ways that show, and the years of work by Robert Novak, revolutionized the way politics was viewed. Again, not always for the best but at least it was hard work and determination that was employed not well funded lies and spin.

RIP Brother Novak.
