Thursday Roundup

Somehow I have found myself surprised at the right wing's reaction to the nomination of Judge Sotomayor for the supreme court. Sure, I knew they would oppose her with the typical, predetermined responses. But it seems like they are not even trying to make sense anymore. Of course Newt and Rush are slandering her with the most hateful rhetoric but even people like Mike Huckabee seem to be rushing to the bottom. Do they really think that Americans are getting dumber and will start believing them if they only shout a little louder and be even more mean spirited!?! Do they really think that their failure in the past was based on too much empathy? My gosh, these folks are just plain nasty and could care less about this country. I'm grateful that the number of people still locked into this mindset is shrinking. In a way, having the media pander to the Cheney's Limbaugh's and Gingrich's of the world only served to highlight their complete lack of substance to all who watch.

The Yankees are tied for first place for the first time this year. An off day today but let's keep it up guys.

End if the month so working all day everyday. Got a cold too on top of it. As long as I make some money over the next few days I'll be fine.

I haven't been down to Times Square since they closed off Broadway to vehicular traffic. Seems like a great idea to me. I will report back my first hand impressions as soon as I get the chance to check it out.
