Tuesday Roundup

I'm still just using my phone for the blog. It's not enough. I can write but not compose. So here are some quick hits of things I could go on and on about.

The Yankees are off to a shaky start. Losing twice in embarrassing fashion and a new stadium with empty seats. The new stadium is nice and I'm not ready to pass final judgement after just two visits but I would now call it overrated.
True, the seats are more comfortable and closer to the field. The interior is grand and roomy. Need to check that area out more closely.

But the regular concessions are not all that. Its sort of like the food court at the mall. The same 7 or 8 places duplicated throughout. The place is wide open. I think that might be a mistake. It will be perfect on hot game days but if it's raining you're getting wet and if it's cold you're freezing.

It also seems unfinished. There are rivits still showing and walkways remain a raw smooth cement. It may be sturdy but it doesn't seem built to last. I can't see it being usable for more than 30 years.

In other news the tea bag patiers did their thing and the turn out was much less than I expected. I feel good about that. I love it when Americans express themselves. I just love it more when sensible ideas take the day.

I think that Obama is kicking ass. I love that he is just brushing away the past like crumbling pages of history. Gone is the cold war with Cuba. Gone is the apeing contest between Bush and Chavez. Gone is government sanctioned torture. Change has come to America.
