The Yankees lost their Opening Day game but what a wonderful afternoon it was anyway. The weather was picture perfect, the warmest day of the year so far. The new Stadium is wonderful with tons of food, drink and a lot more room inside. The seats I had were great and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.
Of course the prices were outrages. $6 for a regular hot dog and the same price for a soda. Tomorrow I will get beer and prices are $10 for a bottle of bud. Also, it seems that you can't get the internet insiide the stadium - unless you pay for it! New York City is blanketed in wireless coverage - you can get it almost everywhere - for free! Apparently, the Yankee Management wants to get even more money from us so they blocked all signals except theirs and will charge for it. I am not positive this is true, I hope that there were just some first day technical difficulties, but if my fears are coinfirmed it's really rather unseemly to force payment of something that is free as air.
Overall, it was nice to get the season started. This is the first Opening Day loss I have seen, but then again, we haven't won the World Series since I got here. So maybe, the loss today will change our luck for the post season. That's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it!
