Happy Friday!!

Unemployment is at over 8% now, the stock market continues to tank but we are still all here. That makes me pretty happy. Life has become like a reality show where we have to do new and strange things just to get by and hope, week to week, that we can stay "in the game" working, eating and having a roof over our head. I made it through this week even as dozens of co-workers got the bad news about their own non working future.

Who knows what today or next week will bring? In my twisted mind, all this uncertainty is kind of liberating. I have always been a terrible long term planner - I have been living week to week, month to month or semester to semester pretty much my whole life. The new part about this is that everyone else is in the same boat. Hey join the club! Life is short. It's unfair. But it's uncertain journey is what makes it as exciting as it does nerve wracking. All we can is smile through it all, laugh at the ridiculousness of it and push on - hoping we make it another week. As they say in Germany: Hope for the best but expect the Wurst. (get it? German - wurst... funny stuff!)
