Quick Hits

President Obama has been reaching out to Republicans, trying to get them to help out with the Economic Recovery Plan. Unfortunately, the entire nation has changed except for them and conservatives have retained their hyper partisanship, no compromise approach to governing. While the President was slapped down by the GOP this week, I think he has won the greater battle. He has shown his willingness to go way out of his way to work with them and the Republicans have shown their lack of desire to work toward the greater good of the country. As always, the Republicans are concerned only about their political future and couldn't care less about the working people of the United States. Obama tried to bring them on board to repair our damaged nation. Their refusal will, in the long run, be their loss not ours.

Micheal Phelps was photographed smoking marijuana and the entire sports world has come crashing down. Give me a break. The kid is in his early 20's. Let him live his life and make his mistakes. I think it's ridiculous to be making such a big deal about it! So, I am boycotting Kellogg's who refused to renew Phelps contract because of this meaningless controversy. Post Raisin Bran tastes better anyway!

Benjamin Netanyahu is getting closer and closer to becoming the leader of Israel. For years I have been warning that this man is singularly evil, surpassing even our own Dick Cheney. I have never been one to subscribe to the theory of a living Anti-Christ, but if I am wrong and there is one, Netenyahu is my top suspect.

A new reports says New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez was found on a drug test to have taken steroids in 2003. Again, what's the big deal? In 2003 steroids were not illegal and while it is a terrible idea to put that junk in your body, it really was a long time ago. As long as he stopped once it became illegal, there should not be any punishment or major criticism directed toward A-Rod.
