This is just one economic indicator among many that shows how our current economic downturn is much different and much more serious than previous recessions. For the thousands of Americans and their families who become unemployed each day, the need for the stimulus is real. The delay because of political posturing and stubborn partisanship is just making matters worse for them now and everyone else in the very near future.

unemployement was nearly 11% when I got out of Navy right after Carter admin we still have a way to go until things get that bad
