Al Franken, has been declared the winner in the Minnesota Senate race after a lengthy recount. Franken was a comedian in the 1970's and 80's starring on Saturday Night Live. More recently, he penned a pair of books which exposed the right wing for the lie merchants we all came to realize. His first book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" expertly dissected the radio loudmouths arguments and showed them to be as flawed as the entire conservative movement. In his most recent book "Lies and the Lying Liars Who tell them" Franken mercilessly listed the web of mistruths and fantasy spun by those who were paid to perpetuate the falsehoods that kept the Conservative movement afloat. It is certainly fitting that this clarion of truth - this man who dared stand up to the right wing when it was very unpopular is now heading to Washington as a U.S. Senator. Now that the rest of the country has caught up to the fact that the conservative movement was a complete fraud, we should all applaud the results of the Minnesota election. Not only that, but this guy is a pretty good Mick Jagger impersonator!
