Tuesday Roundup

I have Jury Duty today. "Grand" Jury Duty! I'm not sure what all this will mean except that I go to City Hall today instead of work. I don't even know if I want to get on a jury or not. It would be nice to get a break from work but I don't want to be locked up for months on end either. We'll see.

More deaths in the Year of Celebrity deaths: Patrick Swayze and Jody Powell. Swayze was in a bunch of movies I never saw and Powell was Jimmy Carter's press secretary.

Kanye West and Serena Williams lost it this weekend. Good to see that the criticism is coming from all sides.

More teabagging last week as people, upset that they lost the election, tried to blame all their problems on Barack Obama. The Million Moron March, drew only tens of thousands of people. Again, I find it hard to take them seriously. They were silent during the Bush years when these problems came into being and all of a sudden spring into action when a Democrat is in office. They also "coincidentally" parrot talk show hosts word for word in their nonfactual list of grievances. I have seen all this before - during the Clinton years. What Obama is learning and all Americans should realize is that these people are not principled at all. They are simple partisans grabbing desperately for something to complain about. They don't care about taxes, the deficit or heath care at all. They are just upset that George Bush was a failure and the conservative movement was discovered to be a fraud. So their whines about the Obama administration are just an excuse to be a sore loser and are designed to help them reach their goal of having President Obama fail. To take them seriously is to waste time.

I watched the Jay Leno show last night. You may remember that I predicted the show would be a hit and would transform late prime time TV for many years. Last night's show however was very weak. Not that funny, not that different than his 11:30 show and not containing anything worth watching on a regular basis. It might just be that he was rusty after all that time off. If things don't pick up, my original prediction will be wrong.

Have fun at jury duty!?! I watched Leno as well and it just seemed like the tonight show at an earlier time.... same band even! I was a bit disappointed.
